Functions & Catering Officer

Casual (Approx 3 days per week and after hours as needed)

We require a dynamic person to join our Functions and Catering team.  The team is  will be responsible for coordinating all our events and functions and liasing closely with the Restaurant, Bar and Entertainment departments. The successful candidate will be passionate about their job, highly organised and able to lead by example.

As part of a Team and under the direction of the Food & Beverage Supervisor, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Actively seeking out and engaging new customers
  • Completing run sheets on all social and function activities booked for the Club
  • Proactively following up sales leads, enquiries and quotes
  • Utilising the internal booking and management systems for Functions and Events
  • Planning events from start to finish, according to requirements, target audience and objectives – and ensuring delivery of the highest standard
  • Clearly communicating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Sourcing and negotiating with vendors and suppliers
  • Assisting in the preparation of events, and in some instances, assisting in the duration of the Event

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Project Management skills
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
  • High level organisational & time management skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • A team player attitude with solid leadership skills
  • Experience in Food and Beverage and/or Event operations preferred
  • Computer proficiency
  • The ability to be flexible with roster (weekends and nights)
  • RSA certificate preferred (or willingness to obtain upon employment)
